I have been involved with The Big Disability Group since it was founded in 2017 by Kevin and Dhyani Crawford. I am lead adviser and if someone is looking for advice and information they will meet with me. I head up the advisor team and train all new advisors at the charity.
I enjoy meeting people and hopefully assisting them with any issues that they may have.
I also work with our volunteers, who we encourage to aspire and meet their goals. We are very supportive of each other and although we can be extremely busy we have fun too.
Since moving to the hub we have been able to arrange for several groups to use our facilities. We have a jewellery group, a knitting group, an art for anxiety group, a sewing group, an autism awareness group and more!
We are very aware of the importance of people being able to interact socially and the groups fill that gap.
The public can also make an appointment with Voiceability, CAB and Con Cunningham a solicitor for assistance with anything from benefits to guardianship.
The Big Disability Group hub is somewhere that anyone can pop in and have a chat and a cuppa with no pressure or judgement.
