CLIENT INFORMATION
Client is a 6yrs old girl has Autism and is non-verbal, the service user is highly intelligent in a lot of ways’ she has no sense of danger. This is improving with the continued support from everyone involved. Service users seek a lot of sensory input from deep pressure, and she is a very high energy individual. She loves going on trains and buses and even likes just watching them pass by at a safe spot, she also loves water, throwing stones in the water and feeding the ducks. Service user is very outgoing and does enjoy the being sociable, however she is sensitive to loud noises or busy places. She does have ear defenders and will indicate showing you by hand when they are required. She loves to laugh and is generally a happy child. Service user will always have her iPhone with her which is her own as this helps her to regulate her emotions. Service user will lead by the hand to show you what she wants or needs and is very good in communicating in her own way. She loves to run and chase people or even watch people running. She can occasionally push a child as this is her way of asking them to play and run. We have worked with different strategies to reduce this happening as it is a danger when out as she is unaware that this is alarming and she is wrong. We are nearly at the completion of toilet training but still wears a nappy when outdoors & she can’t communicate her needs and would involve personal care.
CLIENT REQUIREMENTS
I am looking for a female who is bubbly, passionate about their job, trustworthy and reliable, has a calming nature and the patience to deliver the service user’s needs. Personal care will be required; we are flexible if it is planned in advance Ideally, I would need 3.5 hours on a Wednesday night, & Sunday afternoon 3.0hrs support would also extremely beneficial to me. Experience in working with kids and Autism would be advantageous.
Current PVG will be required, or help can be given through employer to obtain a PVG.
